PUMA ambassadors, Lebogang Phalula and Yolande Maclean will celebrate National Women’s Day at the Totalsports Women’s Race in Johannesburg on Tuesday, 09 August 2016, while Lebo Phalula will fly the PUMA flag at the Totalsports Women’s Race in Cape Town on the same day.
“Road running has definitely changed my life,” says Lebogang. “The sport keeps me busy, healthy and fit. I am really looking forward to running in my home city. I love the Johannesburg crowd. The atmosphere and support on route is amazing. My goal will be to win, with my toughest competitor being time. I am looking forward to running a personal best time. Hopefully I will be able to encourage other ladies to do the same.”
According to Maclean, the sport of road running has made her believe in herself. “I have been able to push myself to the limit on a daily basis, both in my personal life and when I race. I’ve made a lot of friends through running and love to motivate others in the sport. I would definitely recommend the Totalsports Women’s Race to other women. Being able to run is special in itself. Being able to run with thousands of women is super special.”
The Totalsports Women’s Race will debut at the Grand Parade in Cape Town on National Women’s Day.
“I can’t wait to run in the Mother City,” says a very excited Lebo. “It is good for an athlete to run in different places. I would recommend the sport of running to all women. It’s a great way to release stress and keeps you healthy. I love that the Totalsports Women’s Race acknowledges the role that women play in society. The event is hosted for us.”
PUMA’s ambassadors were seen in action at the Totalsports Women’s Race in Durban this past weekend (Sunday, 17 July 2016). Lebogang secured a 2nd spot on the podium, Lebo came in 3rd, while Maclean finished 10th.
